DAVE

Here’s a picture of Dave.

He likes Monty Python.

It’s not quite finished.

Meh.

Still Life Conkers

Yep, two little conkers painted with oils.

I suddenly had the urge to do still life stuff. It’s hard. I’m going to keep at it, but could do with a few ickle brushes to improve my chances.

I think my current brush hates me…

The Dog that Sang at my Wedding

Meet Noodle. Possibly the most characteristic dog I’ve ever met. Her owners have been very kind to us through various stages in our life so it seemed that doing a drawing of said wedding singer was the least I could do.

It’s the last time I draw a curly-haired dog.

Or in other words, my Dad. A present to celebrate turning 60 – keep up the good work, Pa!

Dog Rock

I did a commissioned pencil drawing of a dog called Diesel for a friend’s Christmas present gift to her boyfriend. I am led to believe that he liked it and blubbed like a baby, which is nice. I did it on my train journeys to work and I’m pleased to confirm that I mastered the rocking – I rocked the boa…train. blugh.

Babylon Gallery Christmas Exhibition

image

I recently had a couple of my flatpack heads accepted for the Christmas exhibition at the Babylon Gallery in Ely. I think this is rather jolly good.

It’s a selling exhibition with the aim to raise money for the gallery and ADEC (arts development in east cambridgeshire), who run the gallery. They sold the bear head to a lady (thanks go to her persistent kids, I’d imagine) so I like to think I’ve done my bit, as in they take 40 odd percent commission – fair play.

Anyway, here’s a pic. I’ll add links later, bit fiddly using the telephonic mobile device.

Conkers

image

I’m doing little pencil drawings on my train journeys at the moment. Here are two Conkers I picked up in Ely – a Spanish variety apparently. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to kick the habit of picking up the little blighters!

I swear they know it.

By the way, in case you’re thinking of taking up drawing on trains, the rocking isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It’s the smelly sod opposite, that’s the problem…

First post

Yes, this is the first post.

First post equals new website, and I’m hoping like living hellfire, that you like it.

As I create, I will update. The current area I’m working on is the flatpack animal heads. Much fun indeed. If you are interested in aquiring one of them, or suggesting a head that you would like created (no elephants!) then please get in touch through the contacts page.

That’s it. I’m keeping it brief for the moment because I just want to get the site live…and it needed something here. So here it is…HERE!

p.s. Things to look forward to: Badgers! Lions! Conkers! Blimey.
